$50 First Charter National Bank Notes

Fifty Dollar Original Series National Bank Note Value

Original Series $50 National Bank Note

You’re looking at a picture of the first type of fifty dollar national bank note ever issued by the United States. These notes are incredibly difficult to acquire due to the limited number of banks which issued them. Most high denomination national banknotes were destroyed or redeemed in the early 1900s. If you recently came across an old $50 national like the one pictured above, consider yourself lucky. It may be worth a lot of money even in poor conditions. If you want to know how much your fifty dollar national banknote is worth, reach out to us as you may be pleasantly surprised with how much we offer you.

Value: A poor condition $50 first charter national bank note will bring about $8,500. Depending on the bank, a better condition note will bring about $15,000. Sometimes the value of these bills can be over $30,000 if its a good bank and great condition.

$50 National Gold Bank Notes

Picture of Fifty Dollar Gold National Bank Note

Like all the other denominations, the fifty dollar national gold bank notes are all incredibly rare and difficult to come by. We’ve only been lucky enough to handle a handful of this specific type of banknote because they’re so rare. Whenever someone comes to us offering us their gold-standard national banknote, we always offer strong. The way you can tell if you have this gold bank note is by the color of its paper and also the text across the top reading “Redeemable in Gold Coin”. Definitely contact us if you have questions about your $50 national bank note.

Fifty Dollar 1882 Brown Back Territorial National Bank Note Value

The majority of fifty dollar brown back national banknotes from 1882 will be worth at least a thousand dollars, regardless of which bank the note was issued for. These $50 bills are called brown back notes because the reverse of every bill has a brown back. The $50 nationals have some of my personal favorite designs, which is also why they’re pretty popular among collectors (as long as they can afford them). Prices of these banknotes can spike dramatically very quickly. Consider contacting us immediately if you have one of these rare banknotes.

Value: Poor condition $50 brown back nationals are worth $2,400. Decent condition bills from a decent bank can bring $5,550. Great condition nationals from a rare bank can bring over $12,100.

Date back 1882 $50 national banknotes are popular among collectors mainly because of their denomination. The fact its a date back doesn’t matter to the majority of collectors. These notes will come with a blue seal, blue charter number, and blue serial number. The above example is in great condition, which is very uncommon for the type. Consider us serious buyers of high denomination $50 national bills.

The above example is from New Orleans and has the charter number 5649 in blue. You can see the note isn’t in the best condition, however, the note is still incredibly valuable. Consider us serious buyers for $50 national bank note bills.

Without a doubt, $50 red seal national banknotes from 1902 are some of our favorite. Red seal fifty dollar bills are just flat out rare regardless of what city bank the note was issued for. The above example is from Baltimore, Maryland with the bank charter 414. Expect to get paid at least a few thousand dollars if you have a $50 red seal national banknote from 1902.

1902 $50 Blue Seal National Bank Note

1902 $50 blue seal national banknotes will be a lot less valuable than the other types in the series. This is simply because there were so many of them printed. Don’t let that deter you, as we’ve paid over $10,000 for examples similar to the one pictured above from Brookville, Pennsylvania (charter 3051). We’re serious buyers when it comes to $50 national banknotes.

Fifty Dollar 1929 Small Size National Bank Note Value

Small size fifty dollar national bank notes are pretty common. This is because of the sheer number which was printed by thousands of national banks. There are some rare types that can be worth some money, especially a serial number 1 high denomination like this. The example above is from Detroit, Michigan with the charter number 8703.

Depiction: Portrait of Ulysses Grant, 18th President of the United States, was an American soldier and politician. Grant played a central role in winning the American civil war.

Value: Poor condition $50 brown seal small size nationals are worth $70. Decent condition bills from a decent bank can bring $120. Great condition brown seal small size nationals from a rare bank can bring over $500.
