Cool Serial Numbers on Currency
1. Ascending Ladder
With an ascending ladder serial number, each digit is one number higher than the previous one. Examples: 01234567, 12345678, 23456789, 45678910

2. Descending Ladder
With a descending ladder serial number, each digit is one number lower than the previous one. Examples: 10987654, 98765432, 87654321, 76543210

3. Solid
Solid serial numbers are on banknotes with every digit being the same. Examples: 11111111, 22222222, 33333333, 44444444, 55555555, 66666666, 77777777, 88888888, 99999999

4. Radar
With radar serial numbers, you can read them the same front to back, almost like a mirror image. Examples: 12344321, 00122100, 00011000, 44511544

5. Repeater
Repeater serial numbers are ones that any two or four digits repeat. Examples: 02020202, 00020002, 59335933, 29292929, 11121112

6. Radar Repeater
Radar repeaters are a combination of both radar and repeater serial numbers. Examples: 15511551, 84488448, 64466446, 91199119, 34433443

7. Rotator
Rotator serial numbers can only have 0, 1, 6, 8, and 9’s in the serial number. Imagine a rotational axis at the central digit position. Examples: 66600999, 00088000, 00669900, 6961969

8. Radar Rotator
Radar rotator serial numbers are those with both a radar and a rotating serial number. Examples: 88800888, 08800880, 00088000, 88811888, 11188111

9. Super Radar
Super radar serial numbers are special among collectors. With super radars, the internal digits are all the same. Examples: 90000009, 60000006, 20000002

10. Super Repeater
Many collectors enjoy super repeaters. Super repeater serial numbers have two digits that repeat four times. Examples: 12121212, 54545454, 91919191, 08080808

11. Seven in a Row
Seven in a row serial numbers have seven digits consecutively which are all the same. Examples: 11111112, 87777777, 54444444, 98888888, 12222222, 32222222

12. Seven of a Kind
Seven of a kind serial numbers seven out of eight digits all being the same. Examples: 11211111, 55555655, 88838888, 44444447

13. Binary
In a binary serial number, only two of the same digits are present. Collectors refer to a true binary serial number only having only (1’s) and zeros (0’s). Examples: 01011101, 01011111, 11111001, 00001010, 00101101

14. Double Quad
With double quad serial numbers, the first four digits and the last four digits are all the same numbers. Examples: 11112222, 55559999, 66661111, 00008888. The example below is a silver certificate, learn more about them from a page we wrote here.

15. High

16. Low
Most collectors consider low serial numbers anything below 100 (A00000100A and lower) while others consider low serial numbers to be only serial numbers 1 through 9. Examples: 00000099, 00000051, 00000002, 00000072
